The firm began in the 1960s as David Klein CPA, specializing in the food industry. Originally located in Manhattan, the firm was relocated to Long Island in the late 1970s. Carolyn Slawski joined the firm as a staff accountant in 1982. She and David worked side by side until 1990 when David Klein passed away. The firm was soon moved to Islandia where it has been ever since. The staff has since grown to three full-time accountants and one per diem accountant.
